From my experience it looks something like this:
Finesse batter(Opposite of slogger, probably humble, high average, great at batting. Probably an opener)
Slogger(Everyone hates him, even though he saves the team sometimes. Is either an opener or a middle order/finishing batsmen)
Best batter(Either humble or completely full of himself, best on the team, probably bats at number 3)
The NPC batter(Bats at 4 or 5, is pretty good at batting, but is pretty much a complete background character)
Pace allrounder(Pretty much an NPC until he gets on the highlight reel after getting a 50 or bowling some crazy deliveries. Bats at 6 or 7)
Spin allrounder(Idolizes Jadeja, thinks he's him, probably constantly getting slogged 75% of the time, but the other 25% of the time he plays like prime Ravichandran Ashwin. Equally as good at batting as the pace allrounder. Bats at 6 or 7)
Medium pacer(Mostly uses seam bowling and bowls middle overs. Nearly single handedly keeps the enemy team at a low score, and has a very low economy, but never gets mentioned for his work)
Fastest pacer(Fastest dude on the team, is either humble or thinks he's a hotshot, no inbetween. Enemy batsmen barely see the ball. Is full of himself until the enemy batter hits him for 6 multiple times in an over. Then he completely collapses. Also probably has a single digit batting average, but no one cares.)
2nd fastest pacer(When the fastest pacer and this guy are bowling a spell together, they are basically unstoppable)
Spinner(Completely overlooked, just like the medium pacer, these two are really carrying the team on their shoulders. Hates it when enemy batsmen drive up the pitch. Also, if he accidentally bowls full length, it's over)
Wicket keeper(Either the worst keeper possible, with a guy at longstop and still concedes 50 runs every game in byes, or indirectly wins the team every game, because he only concedes 20 runs per game, while the enemy wicket keeper concedes 40. Also, decent at batting)
Captain(Either the finnesse batter, the best batter, an NPC batter, or the keeper)
The liability(Fields at fine leg, bats at 11, can't bowl, but is still on the team. Probably only on the team because not including him, they only have 10 players.)
Can we talk about our experiences/war stories playing with professional players(or players that later went on to become professionals). Because we know that the skill gap between professionals and regular people is insane in every sport, i want to hear how big it actually is in cricket.
Also, I've heard that a part time spinner who's only bowled 10 overs in his career could probably bowl out an entire amateur team. Or that a tailender with an ODI average of 3.5 could smash 12 sixes in 2 overs vs a regular club cricket team.
