Hey all,

We booked August round-trip Alaska Inside Passage cruise on the Emerald Princess (out of Vancouver).

For Juneau, our itinerary is 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, so roughly 8 hours in port. We really want to visit Mendenhall Glacier and do the walk out to Nugget Falls.

I’m looking at Princess shore excursions, and the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center one is about 3 hours total, but only ~2 hours actually at the site. For those who’ve done it, is that enough time to walk to Nugget Falls and back without feeling rushed?

Alternatively, would you recommend skipping the cruise excursion and doing something like a shuttle, taxi, or ride share instead for more flexibility?

Any tips or experiences would be really appreciated!
