I took this cutting from my main plant because it was getting leggy. It’s been callousing for a couple days in the sun. What do I do now?

I’ve lost so many cuttings to rot trying to root in water. Was thinking of leaving it on soil to let roots form but the leaves seem to be wilting so I’m not sure that’s the best route. Should I just stick it in soil?!
