Heyo, I’ve been working on a companion tool for Where Winds Meet to help guilds organize events and war sessions, and after tracking a large number of guild activities, a few patterns became very clear.
At this point we’ve seen:
- 100+ guilds
- 2000+ events generated
- a lot of war sessions with tracked stats
Here’s what the more organized guilds consistently do better:
- They don’t rely on last minute signups Events are planned in advance, with roles and groups already structured before things even start.
- They assign clear roles Guilds that define tank / support / dps / hybrid roles perform way more consistently than those who don’t.
- They track participation and performance. Even simple tracking (damage, healing, attendance) changes how seriously people take wars.
- They make it easy for people to show up. This one is underrated guilds that use reminders (especially Discord) have way better attendance and consistency.
- They actively recruit and reduce friction to join guilds that make it easy to discover them and instantly join (for example through Discord links) grow much faster.
Because of this, we ended up building things like:
- a recruitment tab directly inside the guild page (to find and invite players easily)
- the ability for guilds to add their Discord server so new members can join instantly
- Discord reminders for events (so people don’t forget or miss them)
- event planning with attendance tracking
- group composition tools
- war session stat tracking
From what we’ve seen, attendance and recruitment are where most guilds struggle.
How are you guys handling it?
