Feinwerkbau 80
Hello guys!
Yesterday I got the chance to shoot with the club's new* gun - the FWB 80.
First impressions:
-Whoa, that's veery heavy and the center of mass is forward leaning and quite high (privileged me was just getting used to the Steyr Evo 10).
-Your grip has to be veeery good, this pistol loves to punish weak wrists. The handgrip, although left handed, felt somewhat ok which surprised me. The lack of the horizontal part at the bottom of the handgrip, on which your wrist lies really makes a difference (my trainer called it a "sponge" idk if this is the correct translation into English)
-Whoa, there's a ton of recoil. Maybe a little because of my wrist, maybe the grip "helped" but still. I've never had that much recoil on a pistol. I've shot an old Feinwerkbau CO2 (idk the model) which comes close but not quite; an old Benelli Kite; a Morini CM162 El, Feinwerkbau P8X and my current Steyr Evo 10. The Kite, Cm, P8x and Evo all have relatively low recoil and I can manage them very easily. Not so much with the 80.
The gun is almost twice my age and after a few dozen shots i get why people designed the PCP system.
All in all it was a blast and it was definitely soo much fun. Now i can appreciate modern PCPs a bit more.
