So as the title says really. I’m A rated, 1200 iR and been activity competing in the GT3 European series. Really enjoying it, and best result usually float around 6ish, with a few results below that. Despite practicing, keep finding myself a couple of seconds off the front runners.

I suspect I’ve got some major gaps in my skill set that GT3 is kinda hiding. I assume dropping back to gt4, or even MX5 would be valuable to hone the skills more before coming back up.

As I say, just after a bit of a sanity check. Anyone else experienced similar? Did you find just sticking with a series you were struggling with worked? Or was there value in dropping down to the slower series for a bit.

EDIT: thanks for all the feedback, been great reading through everything. Just to address why I didn’t provide a lap; I was more interested in others experiences in dropping down, but can post one this evening once back from work.

Whilst there’s naturally going to be differing advice, the main message seems to be stick with the GT3 but maybe compliment it with another series, as well as better analysis and tutorials. Thanks for the all the posts, really appreciated.
