What are the small things that make living alone easier for the elderly?
My grandpa lives alone and is still pretty independent, but I've been thinking about little ways to make things easier for him without making him feel like we're trying to take over his life.
Nothing huge, just small stuff. Better light, non-slip mats, grocery delivery, maybe an emergency button. I've also been looking at mobility support options because he can still get around, but longer walks and stairs tire him out more now. I came across the dnsys Z1 knee device, and it got me wondering if these newer assistive devices are actually useful for older people who don't need a walker, but could use a bit of extra support.
For anyone living alone, or helping an older parent/grandparent who lives alone, what small changes actually made a difference? I'm looking for things that help someone stay independent without making their home feel like a care facility.
