I just got a new 70-200 f2.8 and it’s so uncomfortable to hold my camera with the tripod mount on! I injured my wrists in januari so I really have to hold my wrists in a way that presents further injury.

is it really that bad for the camera mount to just attach the strap to the body? Like will it ruin the tripod mount quickly or is it more an increased wear and tear over time? I never used the tripod mount on my old 70-200 but this new one is even heavier and I don’t want to ruin my camera mount.
