[Thank you] u/mrpostman414

Thank you very kindly for the Welsh Nationality Room postcard.

This style of church room was once very common across our country, and you can still find them in some form in some places. The non-conformist Christian tradition of our country is deeply intertwined with the language and historical policy.

Part of why the language was so strongly discouraged in schools during the 19th century was due to the Anglican leaders of England being... uncomfortable with non-Conformist practice, or at least that was one of the justifications they used.

Seeing the language used in a classroom on the other side of the world, honouring a religious tradition that meant a great deal to the people of this land, is deeply significant to me.

Thank you.

this thing is going straight under a book to fix the cover curve.

What if India was in China and China was in India and Germany was Persia and the Persians were in Japan so the Japanese were Vikings and Greece was Great Britain? And also Constantinople literally was Rome?

[thank you] few days of mail!

u/ppelippippam Thank you for the Mauswiesel postcard and the mustelid stamp - I'm OBSESSED! I used to be a big Eurovision fan but I kind of fell out of it these last few years, especially as my country is.. not great at it. the last time we got A POINT from televote was 2023, and I don't see that changing next week haha..

u/ok_theme7072 thanks for the GIANT illustrated pansy fairy postcard. it's stunning. if you ever need travel tips for Wales, let me know! we do have almost a surplus of castles haha!

u/Pen_and_paper24 thanks for the postcard and pressed flower! it (mostly) survived the gauntlet of the evil all-destroying USPS machine.

Senedd Election results, 2026

Thought I would modify my map from last night with the actual results - and a few little changes. Colour of constituency indicated largest vote share (Plaid 11 - Reform 5)

Data from https://www.pollcheck.co.uk/senedd-polls/

Model by https://jaclarner.github.io/senedd_etholiad_sim/

The limitation of this data is that it's not constituency level. It's taking national aggregated polling and using Uniform National Swing.

Corrections: In Pen-y-Bont Bro Morgannwg, seats should go 1, 5 to Reform, 2, 6 to Plaid, 3 to Labour, and 4 to Tory (2 REF-2 PLA-1 LAB-1 CON). The listed seat totals in the key are correct.

The light blue is Reform and Tories within 5%, as it says in Welsh.

u/Sension5705 (x5!!) thank you for the lovely pack of Welsh map cards! I'll be honest, I was looking at buying some of these eventually, they're so gorgeous, so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

u/ai-oea thank you for the impactful pedicab home card. it's beautifully illustrated!

u/PureAloeVeera thanks for the Basilique Notre Dame de Montréal card. I'm glad you enjoyed your time off over Easter!

u/Jdoodle7 Thank you for the lovely purple flowers folding card! It does not offend me that you don't think of me every day... I'd maybe be a little concerned if you did! My resolution this year is to be less hard on myself for things I can't control. I wouldn't say I'm doing it perfectly, but to be better than yesterday is progress nonetheless.

u/Destalena I had to scroll far back in my DMs to get your username, but I did find it! Your card has finally arrived. The Bangor in Maine is named after the Welsh hymn tune by the same name, named after the city in Wales! It's not that type of direct naming you often see in the USA, but it is still ultimately derived from us haha.

there's also a Bangor, Northern Ireland, whose name seemingly comes from the same root in proto-Celtic but via Irish instead of Welsh

I'd like to send and receive some postcards from places I haven't gotten many from so far, so sorry Americans! I love you guys but there's so many of you here - this is also to help level the playing field a little for our other non-American friends who often wake up to find all offers/exchanges already fulfilled!

I'm looking for anything in return, but especially cultural and/or historic stuff, although modern tourist cards are also appreciated! If you would be able to send the postcard in an envelope so I can give the stamps to a friend, I'd be grateful.

I've got stamps for about 10. Please comment here and then DM me your address! If you already see more than 10 comments, please assume the exchange is closed, thank you!
