The Indian system is made against us, not for us
I have been going back and forth to the two passport offices for the last 10 days. I had my first appointment at PSK guwahati on 27th April, that day I did not have my 10th marksheet with me so they told me to come on another day. Yeah, that was my mistake. I realized that Normal Application is going to take too long, so I decided to apply for a new tatkaal application. I knew that I had to close my old one to proceed with the new, so I kept trying to close it online. But it wasn't working. Came to know at PSK that I would have to go to the RPO office at Lalmati to close my previous application. I went there yesterday, and they gave me an application at the counter, where I CLEARLY WROTE THE FILE NO. OF MY OLD APPLICATION, and you know what those incompetent pricks did? They closed my new tatkaal application. JUST FUCKING AMAZING. That was just what I needed.
Now I came to PSK this morning, told them that RPO had cancelled my new application, now what am I supposed to do? Booked an Uber bike, went to Lalmati from christian basti again. There they told me that I WAS THE ONE WHO WROTE THE WRONG FILE NO. They pulled up my application letter for the closing, and they clearly saw that I had written correctly. Then they told me to wait, that they'll "fix it" for me. I waited, got called. And they told me that it was "okay" now, I would be able to proceed with my old application, which can be converted to tatkaal free of charge at PSK. I came here again. And they said there is no way to convert a normal application to tatkaal.
So what happened in the end? I wasted 4000 rs, and a few days of my life. Worse than that, I would be getting my passport late even after paying more fees than most people do. Paid 5500 in total, and I would still be getting my passport late. They said no refund is possible. The head here at PSK (the guy in APO1) said that I should go talk to the guy there at RPO. And there I'm told that I should come here.
Like wtf am I supposed to do? What mistake did I even make? No one at that fricking RPO apologized for their mistake. No acknowledgement, no accountability. Instead they tell me that i should not keep coming inside the office as I'm not allowed and I should wait in the waiting area. The audacity is insane after they made a mistake themselves and wasted my money.
Filed a grievance in the passport seva website, but I don't think anything is going to happen. Do you guys know if it's possible to get my 4000 back?
