What if quirks we're acquired through niche stuff?
I've been wondering this since long ago, when I first watched mha, is that the definition of quirk in this show is different than the real definition of the term quirk. And over time as I immerse myself in it, I've kinda replaced the main context of the word quirk as the one from MHA 😅.
I don't know if this had been asked here before but has anyone wondered that by definition of a quirk, IF instead of a genetic mutation, they actually acquired their quirk through unique traits, niche experience, personal influence, or type of personality?
I actually found an old note of mine that was written years ago, it contains some of that kind of headcanons of why they have their certain quirk albeit short and I found it interesting (I forgot it even existed) And the concept are loose and I cannot explain it so I'll just copy exactly what was written:
"Ochako (gravity), her parents are the loving kind of parents where they hold her up in the air, she would associate being up in the air as freedom, or feeling at ease, free of burdens. (Since they probably done that since she was a baby). She wants to lift her parents' financial burden but that was before she would ever become a student at UA. Having money or at least possessing money feels a lot like being free but not really, since money is arbitrary to freedom and temporary with its constant change. Having money feels like you're flying when it's really just having some load of your shoulders with its natural state being the heavy weight of burden."
"Katsuki bakugo (explosion) an artistic kid, probably the type to try out new things and not give up until he's gotten the hang of things, he would be outdoors a lot. His quirk reminds me a lot of how rocks can be used as a fire starter through friction and working up a heat and he probably did try that and most likely succeeded. Probably making it one of his first skills, and from that experience, continued exploring with the confidence he acquired from it."
"Iida (engine) is an obedient younger sibling, probably did errands while being timed and was knee jerked a lot" (??? 😭)
"Midoriya (one for all) is an aspiring boy who can't decide what he wants to be and has too many idols aside from all might, is deluded by imagining himself being different heroes with their trademark quirks. As analyst, had the capability to be a jack of all trades. (He's probably a late bloomer due to the ongoing development and because of that he was bullied)"
And if having quirks through niche stuff was actually applied in the universe, everyone would be trying out and finding unique stuff to do, which would make seemingly average stuff to be quite niche too..?
I feel like I'm missing something crucial but idk
