Hi all — would love a quick sanity check / any tips from those who know Paris well 🙏
We’re visiting Paris in July as a family of four with two girls (5 and 8). They’re good eaters (not fussy), and we’re trying to strike a balance between seeing the main sights and having some really memorable food experiences.
We arrive Friday afternoon and leave early Tuesday morning, so it’s a fairly short stay — aiming to keep things relaxed rather than overpacked.
We’re not looking for anything too fancy or formal — more authentic, relaxed, good-quality Parisian meals that still feel a bit special.
We’re staying at Novotel Les Halles and planning to cover the usual highlights (Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Seine cruise, Luxembourg Gardens etc), with a pretty relaxed pace (picnics, wandering, park time, afternoon breaks).
So far, these are the restaurants we’re planning:
- Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte
- La Rôtisserie d’Argent
- Le P’tit Bistrot (Marais)
- Le Petit Châtelet
- L’As du Fallafel (for something casual)
We’re also planning things like a picnic near the Eiffel Tower (baguette, cheese etc) and lots of casual bakery stops.
A couple of questions:
- Are we on the right track with these restaurant choices?
- Anything you’d swap out or prioritise?
- Any hidden gems (especially family-friendly, not too formal)?
- Any standout ice cream / gelato / boulangeries we should make a point of visiting?
Not trying to overbook — just want a few great anchors and then explore.
Appreciate any advice — thanks in advance!
