Taiwan Travel Buddy to Meetup With on the Weekends and Experience the Culture
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I'm an ABC currently studying Mandarin at 師大 MTC looking to connect with my heritage. I'd like to find someone to meet-up with on Saturdays.
I'm looking to connect with my heritage and visit all "Taiwanese" spots tucked away from the usual tourist routes. I'm down to go hiking (love nature), sight-seeing, and visit museums and check out the famous restaurants.
If there's one thing I'd really like to do, it's to reach the peak of Jade Mountain before I return to the States, but that's several months down the line, and requires extensive preparation.
My Mandarin is a work-in-progress, I don't have an accent but I can't really read (which is why I'm taking classes, lol). My 台語/客家話 skills are non-existent.
I mostly take public transport. 99% sure I have a Taiwanese license, just have to find it; so, I can maybe rent a car or smth, but motorcycles will be a no for me.
I've already been to Elephant Mountain (象山),and I'd like to visit BeiTou (北投) next weekend (05/16) to visit the thermal valley, Battleship Rock, and check-out the Hot Spring Museum.
