I used to think my mom just loved cooking.

She was always in the kitchen—
making dinner, trying new recipes,
asking, “Do you like it?”

I never really thought about it.

Until I moved out and had to cook for myself.

That’s when I realized…
cooking every single day is actually exhausting.
Figuring out what to make, cleaning up after,
trying to make it taste “just right”—it’s not easy at all.

And suddenly, it hit me.

Maybe she didn’t love cooking as much as I thought.
Maybe she just loved taking care of us.

All those meals…
weren’t just food.

They were her way of saying
“I love you”
over and over again,
without ever needing to say it out loud.

This Mother’s Day,
I don’t just want to say “thank you.”

I want her to finally sit down…
and enjoy the meal.
