Upcoming HSE internship in pharma, how can I prepare?

I’m graduating next year and I want to learn as much as possible from my one and only internship in big pharma and be as competitive as much as possible in the job market.

What should I expect? It’s my first ever internship and im really excited. But im too sure about what I’ll be doing. I don’t think I’ll be working on a manufacturing site, but travel has been mentioned. I’m not really sure what to expect, data analysis seems involved and compliance work?

What skills/projects should I try to learn to be transferable to other industries? I was hoping pharma after graduation, but I know how tough it is so I was hoping manufacturing?

I got my six sigma certification, but that’s about it.

I am graduating soon with a bachelors in Engineering. My only HSE experience is in a 6 month internship at a big pharma company. I am worried that my internship isn’t enough to get me hired as a full time HSE professional because of how specialized it is.

I heard HSE is sector specific and to be hired it’s best to have technician or foreman experience or they won’t respect you as the safety guy. Is this a problem? I have no other work experience than serving.

How transferable is my experience to other sectors? I heard HSE is very sector specific, does this mean I can only do pharma roles (I heard there’s not many entry ones too)?

With this in mind, should I attempt to get an internship after graduation at another sector that is hiring (manufacturing, etc.) while getting a masters for IH work?
