Has anyone else experienced this with the glovebox lock on a 2026 Land Rover Defender 110?
I recently took delivery of mine and used the glovebox lock for the first time last week. When I turned the key normally, the entire lock cylinder/socket came out of the glovebox.
The dealership reinserted it, but it happened again. Their explanation was that you’re only supposed to insert the key and turn it slightly, and that if you turn it farther, the lock can come out because that’s “the procedure on these.”
They also sent me a video of another Defender doing the same thing, but I’m having a hard time believing a premium off-road vehicle would be designed with a glovebox lock assembly that can come out that easily.
Is this actually normal behavior, or has anyone else dealt with this?
