I’m looking for advice or if anyone has been in a similar situation.
I transferred my credits from a dentistry degree in Brazil I earned about 183 credits, and now I’m trying to apply for Dental Hygiene or Nursing programs in the U.S. My GPA from Brazil is around 3.1. I consider myself a good student, but dentistry was very rigorous and science-heavy, so I feel like that GPA doesn’t fully reflect my ability.
The problem is that my transfer GPA is being used in the application process, especially for Dental Hygiene, which is very competitive. Most accepted students seem to have GPAs around 3.7 or higher, and with so many credits already counted, it feels almost impossible to raise mine.
I submitted a petition asking if my transfer GPA could be excluded or reconsidered, but I’m not very confident it will be approved.
Has anyone dealt with something like this?
