I am fairly new to the corporate world (24y) and I am only a year into my first ‘corporate’ job. At first I was excited being paid more than I thought I would have straight out of university and thought it would be great to get my career started. After a year I am realizing I don’t do that much work.
The past 6 months a busy day for me is about 4-6 hours of actual work with my average being around honestly 1-2 hours of work everyday. I work hybrid (2 days a week at home) and I honestly don’t really even work when I am at home besides just being available or meetings etc. I felt really guilty about this at first but now it has become the norm. My manager always jokes that I am very busy but I just get my stuff done when it first comes to me and have been good and not procrastinating when I do get work so no one is waiting on me. I don’t know how many more years I can sit at a desk and pretend to be busy while doing nothing. Is this normal and should I feel guilty about it?
Also I apologize if this has been asked already in the chat.
