Not gonna lie I thought portable AC fans (the water/ice ones) we're dumb until my AC died and I bought a $55 one from Amazon. It actually works in a tiny room. Here’s what I learned: the bigger water tank the less you have you to refill it, noise is a big deal and look for thick cooling pads. Watching the teardown videos I learned that several brands use the same parts and I got a wake up call on alibaba. You can see the factory specs and component costs, so I know I didn’t pay up for the same parts in a different shell. You can get them used from Facebook Marketplace (test it first) but just a reminder to keep your fan away from outlets and don’t leave them running unattended. I’m looking for a second unit that’s quieter. What budget portable AC fans have you guys tested that don’t sound like rapunzel! Got any gems that are under $70?
