Be honest, what did I screw badly?

The tiles were originally laid directly onto drywall. The outside wall tiles were starting to lift due to water intrusion bad enough that water was leaking to the floor below (there's a vent below the tub drain, that's where the water through). Cement board on the shower head side. No signs of mold/rot during demo.

I was quoted at 5k from our local tile company to do a full replacement. So wife and I decided to "rent" a decent tile saw from harbor freight and do it ourselves.

Shluter board replacement all around. Paimei thinset. Some home depot discounted tiles 12x24. One weekend, 5 arguments, 3 glasses of wine, and 1 new bathroom later, we ended up with this.

There's minor lippage in places, the worst being around the window. We tried to go cheap and not replace the corner trim. Our biggest mistake. We didnt want slivers so we started from the top and worked down. We didnt center the tiles on the shower head side just to make life easier with fewer cuts.

We plan on repainting the entire bathroom soon, which is why thinset is still visible, but should be an easyish fix.

Howd we do?
