TIL the Caduceus, the winged staff wrapped with two snakes, was not originally associated with medicine. Instead, it was a symbol of commerce, eloquence, and theft. The actual symbol of medicine is the similar looking Staff of Asclepius with a single snake wrapped on a rod.
