Sy Has Been In Foster for 1.5 Years, Looking For His Forever Home
This is Sy. He was found on the streets of Huffman Neighborhood in terrible shape in late 2024 (I won't be sharing those pictures). After a lot of help and caring from his foster family and the Batta Cats crew, he's now a happy, healthy cat who needs to find his forever home. He's been in foster for over a year, now, and his foster family just found out they have to move next year. I'm posting him here in the hopes that this helps get the word out, and maybe his forever family will find him. You can apply to adopt him here:
Batta Cats Adoption Application
Sy has some quirks that any potential adopter needs to know about before considering adopting him.
- He LOVES people. His favorite thing is snuggling on the couch with a person.
- Stroller rides are the best! Seriously, he's so happy to get pushed around at a festival and meet people.
- He likes wearing costumes! This is very strange for a cat, but he likes costumes and coats, especially if it's cold out and he's going for a stroller ride.
- He's a bully to other cats and thinks fighting them is fun, especially if the other cat shows any kind of objection to him asserting dominance. He's met cats that just ignore him, and things have gone okay, but that's a gamble. He should be a solo pet unless you're really willing to take on the task of introducing him to other animals.
- His estimated age is around 5 years, but it's impossible to tell because age is easiest to gauge by teeth and...
- He has no teeth. When he was found, he had a terrible abscess on his face, and his teeth were in awful shape. All of his teeth had to be removed as a part of his medical treatment.
- He's been on a low-dose steroid and antibiotic, and is just now trying out weaning off of these meds. He might need to be on them for life. Administering them is easy, just mix with some wet food and he happily eats it all up.
- He likes to play-fight with a human that understands his signals. When he's in the mood, he likes to do a bit of slap-fighting, with the occasional wrestling move thrown in. He can get over-stimulated, so be mindful while playing together. Just keep his claws trimmed and he won't make you bleed. He's actually very easy to trim!
- He has a tipped ear. He was originally picked up as part of a TNR effort, but his medical condition meant he needed to be kept inside and cared for to recover. During his recovery time, he was found to be the sweetest boy who deserves a loving home.
