I used an ADS1115 soldered to a STM32F103C8T6 board with FreeJoy flashed for the 16 bit precision before tuning it down to 12 bits since it's just potentiometers, around 2 dollars for both the boards, so still way cheaper than a Leo Bodnar if anyone's wondering.
It's my first time posting here so I'm not sure if this is allowed but yeah! This mod is like at most 20 bucks to order the 3D printed parts and the boards were dirt cheap from China to solder all together, overall I'm pretty satisfied, I started this around 6 months ago and put it off for a while, got it done in basically 2-3 days over the weekends.
