It’s hard enough to not get distracted by this adorable little guy sleeping next to me but then my homework has to go and remind me!

Came across this lovely lilac tree with a very much non-lilac thing growing out the top. I looked inside as best as I could and it all seems to be growing from the same trunk. Google image search said the top is either an Eastern Redbud or a Catalpa tree. Not sure about the Catalpa as it’s supposed to have its own flowers but obviously there are none. I don’t even see anything that could be a flower bud on it. I can’t imagine this was a purposely grafted tree. Just an oddity of nature I guess. As a good doctor once told me, life finds a way. 😉
