Hello, I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited. I’ve had it since the fall of last year and have been getting maintenance done as much as I can afford. Now that the weather is nicer I was checking things out and found my right rear shock was moving up and down inside the mount if I pushed on the bumper.

Crawled under this morning for a close look and from what I’ve seen online this might just be a bad bushing.

How dangerous is it to continue driving in this state? Could I get by just replacing the bushing? Is it best to just replace the entire shock?

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

The shocks in the rear are marked as 03/2020 model 2701-547831. Front shocks have a date of 01/2020.
