For years I have seen people stealing bamboo from White Rock Lake. Early Saturday morning I was a bit shocked to see they razed a huge section and left empty bottles (beer, water, energy drinks) and even two Fiskars pruners in the parking lot. Today I saw a man casually carrying two large pieces of bamboo down the trail. I don’t know how to feel about this and would like some opinions. Is it okay to steal bamboo from White Rock Lake?
Edit: I appreciate all the replies. I’m totally cool with people “helping themselves” to bamboo. I agree it would be nice if the city was involved so people could harvest bamboo with dignity. And furthermore, most of you will be happy to know I’ve been properly mocked for my old lady nosying. Yesterday, my best friend made me a neighborhood bamboo watch safety patrol badge.
