Planned cs at UCH

My consultant requested a planned cs at 34 week appointment for a 37week planned cs. Has anyone had their cs at UCH? How soon do they contact you with a date and time. Ive only got 3 weeks left so I am nervous I wont get a slot at 37 weeks. I have placenta previa so I absolutely cannot go into labour before hand.

Planned csection bacteria swab

For those mums that had/will have a planned cs, have you asked your health care team about placing a vaginal swab on baby to get that microbiome going. From my research, babies that go through the vaginal canal benefit from mums microbiome. I have a planned CS due to placenta previa but I havent brought this up since its not standard practice.

Protecting perineum

Does water birth protect the perineum when it comes to crowning? I follow this midwife and gynae doctor and they said they only laboured in the pool and birthed on land because they wanted to protect the perieum with warm compress. I thought water acts as a warm compress in some ways.

This is for those mums who want to ebf their infant; did you feel unsupported by midwives in the postnatal ward? I had trouble latching and my baby was screaming bloody murder. The midwife came to me and immediately offered a bottle of milk instead of observing my latching technique. Ive spoken to other mums who also had this similar experience.
Midwives are encouraged to follow the baby friendly initiative and support women who choose to bf. I understand there are time constraints and lack of staffing. But how do they expect women to have a successful bf journey when they weren’t given that initial support. And the nerve of them to say “breast is best” after sabotaging their journey.

Any vbac mums that successfully induced labour with the midwives brew? Anytime I ask it on other socials i get mixed responses about its effect. Some mums say it safer than pitocin etc but no real studies to back this up.

I constantly look in the mirror and think I am in desperate need of a boob job once I am done having kids. Today I will be nicer to the woman in the mirror. Those boobs have nourished your baby for over a year! Those boobs have been tried and tested from cluster feeding to being an all night dummy. You are doing amazing sweetie (still getting that breast lift when they retire)

I asked my midwife about RLT at my 32 week appt (uk) and she said she wouldnt advice it for a VBAC because theres concerns of it thinning out the scar. Really upset by this as I wanted to “prep”. Has anyone had a successful vbac with RLT. I know theres more evidence for Dates
