Hi Everyone,

Long time lurker first time poster. I just wanted to provide some positivity for those struggling this cycle.

This is my second cycle and I thought I’d have to do a third. I applied so broadly because my undergrad was a mess. I had suffered from chronic illness and never reached out for accommodations because I was embarrassed for having to ask for it (2010s so it wasn’t as common).

I’m a mature student, been out of school for 10 years and working in administrative law for the past few years. My first application cycle I did not at all anticipate how competitive it was, this cycle I really spent time developing my essays and studying for the lsat.

I applied with a 2.59 OLSAS gpa and a 163 January lsat. Not great but better than my 156 last cycle (very unprepared but optimistic). I’ve received R’s from everyone but yesterday I went from the Windsor waitlist to my first A!!

I spoke about my work experience, my new understanding of my illness and how to manage it, I have lots of travel experience that impacted my world views, and I have a clear understanding of why I want to study law.

All that to say please don’t give up hope! If you want it to happen it will. I’m 33, I know people who started law in their 40s and 60s. Time is just an opportunity for you to study and gain more life experience for yourself and your application.

Wishing you all the very best!
