This is the best practice to cover all these sites in one single day:

Go to the national museum in the morning. After that, go to tiananmen square DIRECTLY(no reservation required). Then go straightly north to the entrance of the forbidden city. Finally, go to jingshan park during the sunset.

By this you get:

1. Least Reservation. You only need to book the ticket for the national museum. Tickets for the forbidden city and jingshan park are available on site. No need to book the ticket for tiananmen square.

2. Shortest Route. No detour, no walk back.

3. Best Experience. Avoid the crowds in the morning forbidden city. Enjoy the panoramic view of the forbidden city in sunset at Jingshan Park.
