HOW DO I ANNOTATE

The title is pretty much it. I'm currently working at a grade 5 which makes me wanna rip my hair out because I'm a straight 9s student and I NEVER EVEN WANTED TO DO ART. Anyways dk if u can tell but I am deeply frustrated. Tbf my book has hardly any annotations like only rlly basic ones, but I wanna LOCK the FLYING FREAK in and bump that up to AT LEAST a 7 so I won't hate myself. The work I've done is pretty basic (pencil, biro, watercolour, oil pastel, crayon & charcoal like ONCE) but other than those materials I don't have much else. And I don't think I'll find the time do make more art. So rn I have to focus on annotations. But what kind of stuff do they wanna see? For artist research do they want me to write and english language analysis paragraph cuz that's one thing I CAN do. For my own work what kind of stuff should I write abt? How much? And how do I show development? I'm somebody who likes step by step breakdowns like "based on this exact marking point, do this", which is smth I haven't been able to find anywhere.
