Ivf/pcos/ibs/IC
After 2 years of infertility, 1 natural pregnancy loss, 2 IUIs, and now my first IVF cycle, I just wanted to post something positive for anyone doom scrolling IVF threads like I was.
I have PCOS, IBS, and IC, and we’re still considered “unexplained.” I was terrified going into stims and retrieval because I read so many horror stories and expected the worst.
For anyone nervous about injections: I iced before every shot and honestly barely felt them. That tip saved me from any bruising.
I ended up with 50 follicles, 27 eggs retrieved, and 15 fertilized. Because I was high risk for OHSS, I’m on letrozole, ganirelix, and cabergoline as part of my protocol.
I’m currently day 2 post retrieval and, surprisingly, I feel really good. Mostly just tired, a little crampy/bloated, but overall okay.
I know IVF is different for everyone, and I know not every story is easy or positive. But I remember desperately searching for posts from people with PCOS who got through retrieval okay, so I wanted to be that person for someone else.
