Blood thinners, hysterectomy and HRT
I’m in Australia and was wait listed for LAPAROSCOPIC TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY AND SALPINGECTOMY, RIGID CYSTOSCOPY.
I checked the box nominating for being available at short notice. I got the call on Tuesday, and will be having the procedure next week. It’s welcomed, but I’m nervous. I’m looking forward to leave the house with confidence. This hasn’t been possible for quite some time. White pants? Oh wow, maybe I will!
My question: Last year I suffered a bilateral pulmonary embolism and have been prescribed blood thinners for life.
Are there any others out there taking blood thinners and can speak to restrictions with HRT? My GP mentioned it might be an issue but wouldn’t elaborate. They advised to ask the Gynae. Their response has left me a little concerned.
