Question relating to the above.

My employer sometimes requires management staff (myself included) to come to work on weekends for promotional events. My position is not in sales. Their reasoning is we can take a lieu day for this.

Can I refuse the lieu day and choose to remain off on my weekends? I regularly work full time (37.5 hours a week).
