Hello everyone. Im Cedric, i am 22 years old and i am from Germany. I am playing/DMing in/for multiple RP heavy games, which is very fun, but i also love strategic combat and extraction looters, which dont come up very often in RP heavy games. So if you are tired of tavern RP and just want to beat up some monsters, collect magic items and explore dungeons, this is the place for you.
The premise is pretty unknown to you. You were all adventurers from the forgotten realms and you woke up in a dusty coffin in a crypt underground. There isn't much food around, so it would probably be best to find your way out of this place as fast as possible.
The session will be held in foundry. Im currently trying to switch to V14 to get multi story combat going, but i cant promise anything yet. Your character sheets will be in dndbeyond. I will open a campaign and enable content sharing, so that you get access to a lot of important books, such as eberron, grim hollow, drakkenheim, wildemount, motm, tashas, crooked moon, griffon saddlebag, xanathars, helianas etc. I will trust you to manage the sheets on your own and anything you collect will need to be added to your beyond character sheets, as i will be importing them into foundry regularly.
For character creation and house rules: You will start at level 3 with point buy and fixed hp. All available dndbeyond content is allowed, although i might need to adjust some specific content. Please talk to me about some combos you would want to use, as i would hate to put a ban on things mid session. Especially third party content is sometimes not adjusted to other third party content, so i might need to adjust some things to keep you all vaguely on the same power level. Its very important that you talk to me about the mechanics, so just to make sure you read this, please write your favorite game of all times into the bottom of the application. I expect all rules to be read in good faith, so if youre dealing 255d6 damage, i wouldnt allow it 😄. Flying species are allowed, although i have a houserule that you can get shot out of the sky to take fall damage. Excess damage will put you at negative hp to avoid that weird interaction of constantly falling down and getting revived with 1 hp of healing. Less powerful familiars can attack on their turn with their action. For stronger familiars (like pact of the chain for example) you can always forgo one of your own attacks or use a magic action instead. I use a lot of modules to keep the combat automated, so attack rolls of summons wont clog the board too much. Dragonmarks and Circle Casting are banned, although some creative use of circle casting is allowed if it doesnt boost your combat capabilities too much.
I recommend creating a character that can play well together with others. I would love some flavor/RP for the characters, even if their backstory will most likely not come up often based on the nature of the setting. If you have multiple character ideas, you can write them down as well, since i will try to get a diverse party together that each support the group in the aspects of dungeon delving that they are specialized at.
