I've taken over tnr/feeding my neighbor's colony after she got evicted, the area was full of trash but I am able to feed in this semi-clean corner away from the other neighbors. I always hang out with them for awhile when I feed, but it's starting to warm up where I live and the mosquitos have been coming out with a vengeance. I can barely get the water changed before I've got two or three trying to bite through my pants, so I'm sure the cats are getting bit constantly too.
Citronella seems to be the main sugessted repellant but I know cats don't like the smell, and I don't have access to electricity or anything to plug in fans. Is there any good cat-safe repellant I could use in this area? Would getting a bucket with dunks actually be helpful? I'm in the city with no standing water around, so I think they're just coming out of people's yards. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated 🙏
