Hi! I'm running a CofD game where the players are a group of mortals with no supernatural merits in a Lynchian setting: a small, secluded town in Maine.
My problem: I cannot wrap my head around the ephemeral beings, how they work and how should I design them.
I want to create a spirit (or maybe even a Goetia, as we will run MTAw as a continuation of this chronicle) in the style of BOB from Twin Peaks. Instead of feeding on fear, I thought it could be a spirit of solitude. I’d like it to be a powerful spirit, an antagonist for the future Mage chronicle. One that the players could keep at bay, but that was too strong to defeat for mere mortals.
Deciding what bans, banes, manifestations and numina the spirit should have and how they would affect its behavior is driving me crazy.
I'm not too attached to the idea that it has to be a spirit. Whatever works will be fine.
