Several weeks ago, Gotta get caught up… post was published here and it prompted me to do something about my own travel journals. I've been keeping a travel diary since 2014. Nothing much, just a daily log of where I went and what I saw. I also kept maps, travel brochures, entrance tickets and other ephemera in boxes around the house. Well, now I have started to combine them in a travel journal.

I got two covers - a standard size (that one seems too big for me to carry around), and a passport one as the closest size to the one I used to use as a travel diary. So far, I've filled out one standard insert and started the second one. I have to admit, I don't use the cover at all. If I were just writing, I guess I would have used it, but since I am also adding ephemera, it is more convenient for me to just take out the insert and write, stick, glue and everything else without the cover. In any case, I am happy with the progress I made.

The notebook I used as a travel diary was the notebook I used to carry with me daily. It was the most convenient size for me, but I cannot find the same size anymore (I would call it narrow A6). I did get several A6 notebooks from the same manufacturer that will go with me on my future travels, and lined inserts for the passport cover as a daily notebook. They are all still blank because I haven't travelled since I switched my notebooks, and I am currently using a hardcover pocket notebook that I can use for several more months. I am looking forward to starting the passport, though.
