I’m new to AML compliance. I’ve never worked in it and got promoted after working many years in other banking roles at different institutions that I am normally always successfully in. I was given a rather big role as well to restructure and develop going forward.

Is the culture in this area just undermining, competitive, belittling? Watch someone fall smack on their face? I have zero mentor and just people who hope I figure it out. I have been but it’s taking needlessly forever.

I’m struggling to understand if it’s me or if people are wanting me to fail.

I’m in California if that changes anything.
