Found the most Lorelai & Rory-coded mugs in my mom’s things today ☕️🍁
My mom passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2020 when I was 18. We weren’t even huge Gilmore Girls fans — we watched a few episodes together during her treatments, but we really didn’t watch that many episodes together because we were really into Criminal Minds and Bones.
Over the years, Gilmore Girls became such a comfort show for me. I can’t handle those shows anymore, especially living alone in college and such, but there’s something so cozy and safe about Stars Hollow that became really healing after losing her. It makes me feel close to her in a weird way even though we didn’t really watch the show together a lot.
Today I started unpacking some of her things after my dad remarried, and I found these mugs that are SO Lorelai and Rory coded 😭
It genuinely felt like such a sweet little wink from my mom.
Anyway, just wanted to say I’m thankful for this cozy little community. Can’t wait to drink coffee from these mugs while watching this fall in honor of her 🫶🫶
