Female Electricians in Cardiff for work experience/apprenticeship ??

Circumstance:

I'm 25F and just moved back to Cardiff after attempting further study in the EU, had a big health knock (no access to state safety net as UK citizen meant I lost huge amounts of savings as I couldn't work as planned).

My background:

I have an academic background (only options available right now are in teaching) and want to completely change career paths; I want to future proof my skill set and have been increasingly convinced that learning a trade is the right path. I am not extremely mathematical but like understanding systems and am keen to see tangible outcomes and do hands-on problem solving. I am good with my hands and can do fiddly things. I have no experience with electrics at all but want to see what it is like! No other trade seemed a good fit for me.

Why specifically female:

I have been mates with various male tradies over the years in the area and their day-to-day experiences and insights into the culture of most trade environments has put me off to say the least. I want to learn from female (or queer) excellence and expertise and have absolutely no interest in being in a lad environment. I also think it is a better idea to pick the brains of women or just non-cis-male people in the field to get a clear picture of what the challenges may be for them and specific advice they might have for me.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm hoping to shadow someone for a week or so and see if I would be a good fit and go from there, but also looking to see if anyone knows of any schemes or people who may be looking for apprentices that fit the bill!

I live in Cardiff and do not have a car so cannot go very far afield.

Diolch yn fawr iawn x
