Why the theatrical release now?
I just want to make something clear, I am actually interested in seeing OG Chucky in theaters again. I think it’s really cool.
But like, why now? It’s been over twenty years since seed released (the remake was a different continuity and doesn’t count) and we have now two movies and a tv show worth of lore most general audiences don’t know about. And the film will follow the plot left from the tv show. That’s a lot of recapping for a general audience, since most people who aren’t already Chucky fans aren’t aware of the installments after Seed.
Is it an anniversary thing? Assuming it comes out in 2028 it would be 40 years old. It just seems really odd don decided to do a theatrical release now after so long.
