Parking fine for an unmarked bay. Bristol, England

Good Morning Redditors,

Anyone that lives in Bristol knows how difficult it is to find free parking. Well I found a spot. Every bay on this street has an individual sign (either permit, pay to park or disabled only). All except 1 double bay. From what I have read, BCC must clearly display the relevant signage for each bay. Otherwise, why would they not just put 1 sign up at each end of the street?

After a year of parking here, I got a ticket. The parking Warden took a photo of the sign in the next bay and stated that it applied to the one I was parked in. Naturally, I appealed, with a photo, to state my case.

After a month I got a reply, stating:

" We have carried out further checks on the bay in which you were parked and can confirm that it is adequately signed. The sign relating to this bay is located approximately 12 metres in front of your vehicle."

12m is either in the middle of a junction, or 2 bays over. Not even the sign in there pictures. They state the the PCN stands. Their information is incorrect.

It's only £35 but the principle of it makes my blood boil. Are we to be fined for driving next to bus lanes? Or be charged with trespassing for walking past someone's front door?

Dear Redditors, should I fight the power or pay the fine?
