Am I crazy for leaving a brand new amenity studio for a larger 1BR with basement laundry?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently at a crossroads with my apartment hunt in Downtown Manhattan and would love some perspective from anyone who has made a similar move.

I’m currently in a brand new studio with all the "bells and whistles"—in-unit washer/dryer, high-end gym in the building, and everything is pristine. However, I’ve hit a wall with the lack of space and I’m craving more sunlight.

I found a 1-bedroom that is significantly larger and has amazing light (amazing water views), around the same price as larger studios/1 beds in my current building (with no view). but it comes with some lifestyle downgrades:
• Laundry: Moving from in-unit to a shared basement laundry room.
• Gym: The building doesn't have one; I’d have to use a sister building nearby.

For those who gave up the in-unit W/D for a true 1BR, how was your experience? Any regrets?
