I’ve been listening to Promiseland by MIKA and the chorus starting around 0:38 sounds REALLY familiar.
It’s specifically the way the chorus melody flows and how he sings it, not the lyrics. Different words, but the same kind of melodic pattern and delivery. It gives me strong late 2000s / early 2010s pop vibes.
My brain keeps going toward P!nk or maybe fun. era pop, but I can’t place it. Maybe something like that big anthemic chorus style.
I also saw people compare parts of it to Shut Up and Let Me Go and Funhouse, but that’s not exactly the one I’m thinking of
