I’m building a small Framer web design business focused specifically on barbershops.

My offer right now:
- ~€500 for a website build
- €100–200/month for ongoing upkeep depending on scope

The monthly side can include things like:
- small edits and maintenance
- hosting/domain support
- booking system integrations
- Google Business/Profile improvements
- basic SEO and performance improvements

Pricing varies depending on complexity (for example, if integrations or ongoing updates require more work, it’s higher).

My lead process is pretty manual:
- I look for barbershops with weak or outdated online presence
- often no proper website, or reliance on Instagram/third-party booking tools
- I assess their current setup (mobile, booking flow, domain ownership, etc.)

Depending on what I find, I either:
- improve their current system
- add booking/contact flows (like WhatsApp or embedded systems)
- or build a full replacement website

One key part of my process is that I sometimes create tailored homepage demos for specific shops before walking in.

A custom homepage usually takes me ~30–60 minutes, and I’ve noticed it can significantly improve conversations because the owner immediately sees their own business visualised.

But I’m currently unsure about the long-term tradeoff.

I’m debating whether I should:
- keep building personalised demos to improve conversion and skill
- switch to stronger general templates and increase outreach volume
- or find a hybrid approach

The reason I’m thinking about this is because my target niche isn’t unlimited, but there are still plenty of underserved shops that don’t have proper websites or systems in place.

My current workflow looks like this:

- I build multiple demo concepts ahead of outreach days
- I do direct in-person outreach and pitch those demos
- I continuously source and qualify new leads in spare time
- I iterate on demos and offers based on responses

I’m still early, but I’m trying to optimise both:
- conversion rate per conversation
- and total outreach volume

For people already doing local service businesses or agencies:

What actually moved the needle most early on?

- outreach volume?
- niche focus?
- personalised demos?
- follow-ups?
- offer structure?
- or pricing changes?
