🧈🐔🧍‍♂️Meet Butter Chicken Guy - a 5-year-old sweetheart with a giant boof head, an even bigger heart, and a daily schedule built entirely around mealtimes and booty slaps 🍑

Butter Chicken Guy came from a hoarding situation, so new environments can feel a little overwhelming at first. He may start off shy - but give him a little patience, a calm home, and some gentle affection, and he quickly blossoms into the funniest, goofiest, most loving companion. Once he trusts you, he is all in - head boops, cuddles, dramatic flops, and proudly presenting his bum for his favourite thing in the world: booty slaps. (Seriously, he will put his head down and stick his butt in the air to ask for them.)

He absolutely adores food and gets very excited for mealtimes. Butter Chicken Guy has diabetes, which is very easy to manage - he simply needs an oral liquid medication each morning, which he happily gobbles up without fuss.

His current diabetes medication “Senvelgo” is $365 for a 30mL bottle and he gets 0.25mL per day, so this lasts around 4 months. It’s a relatively new diabetics treatment which is obviously less invasive than daily blood glucose monitoring and insulin injections. There’s also a chance that his diabetes doesn’t remain a lifelong condition.

Our boy BCG is:
✅ Toilet trained
✅ Likes having other friendly cats around
✅ Adores humans
✅ Ok with calm dogs
✅ Would prefer older children/teens who can give him space to settle in (or adults only)

Sir Boopsalot is a 1.5yo black beauty who came to us as a wildling, brought in by an Animals Australia staff member who was involved with rescuing cats from a wildlife reserve near Apollo Bay.

Initially terrified and totally unsocialised, this boy has made a FULL transformation into a loving little prince!!

He took a long time to accept pats, but now he absolutely ADORES affection and will leap up on his little hind legs for a head boop or chin scratch. He is simply divine!! 🤗

Because of his rough start in life, this boy is a little socially awkward with other cats - he has been learning alllllll about personal space and boundaries with the cats in his foster home. They politely let him know that sometimes he can be a little ‘too’ in their faces.

Sir Boopsalot is a quick learner, and I can now see him giving more space to other cats. He is learning that not all cats want to be rubbed up on and head booped from morn til night!! 🫣

In saying all this, it’s actually quite adorable to watch him learn and be more socially aware. He’s just the best little guy. 🥹
And the slightly cross-eye expressions are so CUTE!!

This boy is going to make the BEST companion.
He would be suited to a home with quiet adults and another friendly (and patient) cat or kitten.
He is in foster care with cats and a little dog - he is fine with the dog.

This is the reality of 24/7 rescue work. Many country pounds rely entirely on volunteer-run rescue groups to save the lives of stray and unclaimed animals because they have little or no local adoption programs. When the calls come in, it falls on us as volunteers to find both the foster carers and the funds to give these animals a chance.
