Adopted this avocado tree from a friend at the end of last year. Initially placed by north facing window, it started losing leaves and new growth would die off quickly.

Moved to larger east facing window for more light (the better of my 2 window directions), it lost all remaining leaves and there are buds but they aren't growing into leaves.

Bottom-watered infrequently, the pot feels quite heavy however. Located in southern half of UK.

Could this be light-related, root rot, or another issue?
