I'm in a frustrating situation. I am an associate in 2 practices. One I've been there almost 2 years, it is a DSO and was a slow start, it was essentially a start up when I arrived there, but built up to being a very solid schedule. The last 2 months unfortunately it has gone off a cliff, really quiet due to a number of factors including them hiring a new associate on other days, construction in the area, and the car park being closed indefinitely because of this construction. So the days are now inconsistent. Ive had to cancel 3 out of the last 5 Thursdays because of no or low bookings. The other office is super busy and has all the equipment you could want to do the treatments I like to do, and a great mentor to work with. Due to a colleague getting suddenly gravely sick and not being able to practice, they have offered me full time. So I accept.

Now, the problem is, the first office have taken very badly to me handing in my notice. The regional manager is being an asshole to deal with. They are digging their heels in and insisting on a 90 day notice period. Ok, I can't push back on that too much, it's in the contract. But, considering the schedule isn't filling the 3 days I work there, I want to go to 2 days for this notice period. They are completely stonewalling me. I've gone up the chain of the DSO to general manager, but even she is firmly saying no, we need to keep the 3 days open. Of course it's in their best interests, they've another associate on the way out too so they need to have someone there. The other office is overflowing, so busy they are desperate to have a dentist there more.

Sooo anyone have a similar situation? Or any advice on this? I feel like I'm being held hostage.
