Nervous about getting a second cat.
I currently have a boy who is approaching 2 years old (fixed ofcourse) Hes strictly indoors but our neighborhood/city has a bit of a stray cat issue.
He loves to spend time window watching the strays in the yard and trys to vocalize to them with little “chirps”, and hes always been a very friendly cat, he never shows any territorial signs or hisses at them but just seems genuinely interested in them. Even when he was a baby he was never shy to approach another cat hes never met before.
Weve had occasions where a stray will get real close to our windows and he is never shy to get close to them, so this has led me to believe hed enjoy having another cat in the house. I currently have an opportunity to take in a kitten in need of a home but for some reason im feeling nervous about the commitment. i grew up always having 2-3 cats at any given time so im no stranger to having multiple cats but im just afraid of ruining our home dynamic i guess?
i think part of it is that my wife and i are perfectly content with just him, but we dont want to deny him the chance to have a cat friend to enrich his life some more.
im not really sure what im hoping for you guys to tell me since i understand you guys obviously dont know my cat but i guess im just hoping for some positive stories similar to mine so i can have a better mindset going into this.
