Time Dilation
Trying to limit spoilers as I’m still reading through the novel. I was curious about the varying time dilations.
Real world vs In Game
In Game vs “Full Moon”
In Game vs Floor 1
Floor 1 vs Floor 2
Etc
The setup reminds me of nested dreams in the movie Inception.
It feels like we are told parts of how this works but not actually in detail. The characters also seem to just know how it works without having to explain it. I’m just trying to gather it all in one place.
I think the confusing parts to me are how the different floors have different rates.
What made me confused was there was a time where they had to hold out on the first floor and it was only 7 days, whereas other times they are talking about spending months on different floors. It was explicitly stated that explorers of higher floors aged faster because of such an effect. Im curious about the specific ratios though.
